FAQ

How long does a typical session last?

Each individual session will last 50 minutes.

How many sessions do I need to attend?

I offer long-term and short-term session.  In either case the number of sessions needed will vary based on each individual’s needs.  A guide would be between 6 – 20 sessions.

How do I know if I need therapy?

I believe that if you have found yourself to this page you are probably searching for something more in your life. You are probably searching for an answer.

What issues might this type of therapy resolve?

I believe that all issues stem from one basic source and that is our lack of belief in ourselves.  We develop negative thought patterns throughout our lives, mainly in the first 7 years, and we then tend to see the world through these lenses (or thought patterns).  In Meraki Therapy sessions we look at where these original blocks in us reaching our true potential and worth come from.  Once we have identified where they come from the majority of people find that they no longer experience anxiety, depression etc. as I believe these physical manifestations are just our body’s way of communicating core issues to us.

How can I pay? Are there payment plans?

Most people prefer paying via Paypal these days but payment can be made via cheque, cash or deposit if that works more for you. * I offer a variety of packages, please feel free to email me if you would like to talk about this.

Do you offer therapy to children?

Yes, I do work with children. A big part of Meraki Therapy is looking at the inner child no matter how old.

Do you prescribe medication?

No. I practice psychotherapy whilst bringing in holistic ideologies and techniques. If I feel it would serve your highest good more from seeking alternate treatment I would encourage you to see a clinical psychologist or your GP.

Can I speak to or contact the therapist outside of session times?

You are more than welcome to contact me via email outside of sessions, I try my best to reply to these within 24 hours. However if you would like to arrange a skype or phone session outside of an arranged time we would need to work together on finding a suitable time for us both.

Is my session completely confidential?

Of course.  Confidentiality forms part of a therapist’s professional ‘code of ethics’ that we have to adhere to.

The only time that we are professionally bound to share information to another professional is if a client or a third party is in physical danger or harm or if I receive a court order.
