How do you hear your Heart Singing?

I find I often ask myself, ‘What is my calling? What is my life purpose? Why am I here?’ and recently I’ve been actively trying to find the answer to this question.

Today, I feel the answer is PASSION! I’ve always believed that God has spoken to me through my heart.  This makes sense if you believe that your heart and soul are connected to your higher self which is a part of the consciousness of light and love, the consciousness of God.

This is all good and well but I’m a practical person. So, yes, God speaks to me through the passion and excitement I feel in my heart. Great, I feel happy going for a run, reading, journaling but how God, does that relate to what my purpose is?

Two answers have come to me:

1. Ground yourself in the here and now always listening to your heart’s call in the present moment.  Your heart is telling you to go for a run, go. Your heart is telling you to meet up with a particular friend, then go. How often have you had those moments when randomly seeing a friend you think, ‘Wow, if I had left my house 5 minutes earlier I would never have bumped into you’ or those moments when you meet someone new whilst out for a run and they invite you to join their running club?  Or was that just me? You get the point though? This is your first calling, to listen to the messages angels and God give you each day to help either yourself or others with the ‘little’ things that they or you need to lift your vibration/move you into closer alignment with your life’s purpose.

2. “Choose a job you love, and you will never have to work a day in your life.” Confucius
If God speaks to you through your heart, your love of life, feelings of excitement then we will feel passion for our work.  If you feel happy with your work then it is one way to tell that you have found your calling.
It is a journey, we hope we will find in this lifetime, but even if we don’t that is ok too.  The only thing that is important is that we open ourselves up to hearing the messages from heaven and having the courage to step into the steps spirit is asking us to take.  The only moment we can control is now.  We don’t know what tomorrow holds so let’s be excited about today and do what we love in each moment trusting spirit is looking after our tomorrow.

What’s the difference between one’s EGO and their SOUL

When I looked at the definition of ‘stillness’ in the dictionary; calmness, hush, inaction, noiselessness, peace, quietness, quietude, serenity, still and tranquility are the words that stand out to me the most. The idea ‘being’ in the space of chaos.

I often struggle with not reacting to what I perceive others are thinking about me in any given moment. My mind starts spinning and I feel like there is chaos inside my head. I start feeling judged, I start thinking that I’m not good enough. This I believe is one’s ego. It’s the voice inside your head that represents social expectations and norms. Over your life you are influenced by society and your ego grows to believe that this is the ‘truth’ of who and what you should be as this is what others expect.

After really understanding this concept I had one of the most freeing realisations. I realised that how others see me is NOT the truth of who I am. I was only able to feel this by allowing myself the space to just ‘listen’. In this stillness one is able to hear the voice of their soul. The soul is the voice inside of your head that comes from the true worth of who you are. This is the connection we all have with our source, our guide, our spirit. In the Christian faith you may call this voice the ‘Holy Spirit or God’ in more holistic circles you may call this your alignment with ‘the Source of all and your Spirits/Angels etc’.
What ever you believe, the purpose of your soul is always the same.  It is your the purest guide you have to following your dreams and creating a life that you love. I’ve started listening to quiet music and sitting more on my own. I’ve started just looking at people and letting them talk. I’ve started just listening to my own thoughts. I’ve started just observing… Just observing and in that making a conscious effort to just breath. And in that breath I know I’m automatically connected to my soul… to my atonement.
